Gina K Collection artisans are chosen for very specific reasons.
First and foremost, we insist on excellence of quality; quality materials, findings and finishes as well as quality workmanship. Materials are carefully chosen to showcase their best attributes in the finished item, making each piece a beautiful and functional part of your everyday life. All finished pieces are inspected by the artist and then by Gina, herself. We allow only the finest work to be showcased and sold.
Second, we support our local commerce by choosing craftspeople that live and work nearby. We believe that supporting our towns, cities and state should be our priority.
Third, we use reclaimed materials whenever possible, reducing the amount of "trash" going to landfills. In this way, we also support our environment. In many cases, reclaiming is the only available way to include a material in a work. Reclaimed and re-purposed materials will be listed in the items' description.
Finally, we encourage our artisans to teach; reclaiming our traditional values of industry, community, and connection. In this way, we give back.
“A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist” ~ Louis Nizer
